Practitioners
Persons who complete a professional training program in the TTouch method are called practitioners. They have received a certificate and the permission to use the method.
During the training program for practitioner, the apprentice will complete several sessions. Such a session is always given by certified instructors. After each session, a certificate is provided.
The method is essentially always the same. However to apply TTouch, you also need a good knowledge of the anatomy and the psyche of the animal. Therefore many practitioners will be specialised in treatment of certain animal species.
Two different kind of certificates are provided: one sequence specific for TTouch with horses
and another sequence specific for TTouch with pet animals.
This is a summary of the different certificates and of
the persons in Belgium who are known in the international community to have obtained this level and the accompanying certificate.
Practitioner in training, PiT or TTouch Coach
This certificate is obtained after sucessful completion of four weeks of training and the independant study and succesful finishing of a number of case-studies, spread over a period of 1 to 1,5 year.
Evaluation of the cases is done by the tutor(s).
The practitioner in Training is than allowed to treat individual animals and ask for compen-sation. The practitioner is allowed to give short presentations (max. 1 hour) on TTouch.
Tellington TTouch training Certificate: Practitioner 1
This certificate is obtained after succesful completion of two more weeks of training, the attendance of at least 3 training weekends and the succesful completion of a number of case-studies where
both animal and owner are involved. This session takes between 6 and 12 months. The evaluation of the cases is done by the tutor(s).
The practitioner-1 is now also allowed to organise 1-day workshops or to organise a number of forenoon or afternoon trainings. The practitioner may use the official TTouch logo.
Tellington TTouch training Certificate: Practitioner 2
This certificate is obtained after further thorough training and after sufficient years of proven experience.
The practitioner-2 is in addition allowed to organise training weekends.
Tellington TTouch Instructor
There are nowadays worldwide
13 Instructors. Instructor is not a certificate you can obtain through training or experience along. You have to be practitioner for a period of at least 13 years.
You become Instructor in collaboration and after approval of Ms. Tellington Jones. As Instructor you are co-responsible for the international trainingprogram for practitioners. Anybody who is following the training for practitioner,
will be taught by several Instructors during this program.
